Deconstruction of the Wantsead and Woodford Guardian

The Woodford and Wanstead guardian is a more formalized paper compared to the metro which we can see from the layout.

• At the top Left hand corner they have provided there own website address so reader can see they have other forms of communicating information and news to their audience.
• On the opposite side of the page there is the date and page number which will allow readers to know the date and to be assured that the paper they've purchased is the latest copy. The page number is also a convention that all newspaper have so that reader can know what page there on and if they want to find specific article they won't have a problem doing so.
• In this newspaper the way they place there advertisement's is more structure but also less attractive. The advertisements have been separated from the main article with the use of gutters so the layout is clear and not compact.
• They have included a contents in the side bars but This newspapers has named it something completely different to make the newspaper more interesting "Guardian at a glance" which immediately catches peoples attention and draws them in as it makes them want to know more, it is also quiet informal and sound exciting. there are also brief statements and page number written to inform people of what there going to read and have also included picture for every different topic and relating to secondary stories on the page .
• Adjectives have been used to make articles and the paper more exciting and interesting " stunning" .
• There are different categories which articles are place under which is a plus point of the magazines and may be something that interests readers as the paper is acknowledging that consumers may just want to read about certain topic, for instance they have included articles about property, offers, spots,free time, television guide so they are catering for every bodys needs which shows they have great interest in attracting different audience and are not subjective to one gender or age group.
• There are also plus option which provide the audience with extras withing the side bars and have online option like all other newspaper which is a very distinctive feature of all newspapers where there try to pull reader in through the use of technology and use words such as "latest" which will influence people to actually go online and take a look so they don't miss out on the latest issues and gossip.
• At the bottom of the paper they have clearly stated in bold "its all about you" which tells us that the language and content newspapers use is very important as it what encouraged people to read a particular newspaper, as the woodford guardian use personal pronoun so it sound like there talking directly to the audience which make readers feel important.
• In house advertisements are also used as they are actually advertising other features that the guardian newspaper have on offer to there readers. In bold within this section there is words which again show off the papers advantages which other papers may not have " our own Photographers"
• Columns in this paper help to distinguish it is a newspapers as it is a convention that Newspapers use as a part of its layout.
• There is cartoon picture of a man which is a close up and shows us that all pictures used in newspapers are close ups to place emphasise. "it mocks the tax man" relating to the article and also place a much more humorous side to the newspapers.
• The main articles are centred in the middle of the page to show that they are the most important parts of information. There is also a lot of writing in this new paper all centred around the pictures.
• captions are also used frequently underneath pictures sometimes as a reference or just to inform people of what the picture is about.
• Sub heading are used for the more smaller articles and are in columns instead of straight across to make the paper consistent.
