Deconstruction of the Ilford Recorder

• The layout of the Iford recorder is also very formalized compared to the Metro however they have used the same structures, for example the clear use of gutters make the newspaper have a very professional look as articles and advertisements are in clear columns which exists in all newspapers and makes it easier to be read.
• The page number has also been included in the top left corner which again inform the audience of what page their on and so they can find information easier.
• The price 55p is also in bigger font so it stand out and so the audience can know what the price of the newspaper is. The Ilford recorder may also be more formal because the price is included whereas this convention is not on any other page.
• On the left hand side of the newspaper they include important information about contacting the paper and email addresses and make this feature clear to reader as it clear says "how to find us" is bold white on the dark black background so it stand out to readers, and it will also be something that will catch there attention as they will be able to talk to the paper if they have an opinion which shows consumers that there views matter.
• Instead of an contents sub section they have re named it the index which may be because of the older audience there trying to attract. Within this section they have issues about family announcements which we have not found in other newspaper we have looked into which may be influenced by consumers as it may be something they are interested in.
• Information about weather conditions is also provided but much smaller that what we have previously seen, it is more formal and straight to the point and give you weather conditions for each day which is another plus point of the Ilford recorder as they know its what consumers will be interested in.
• This newspaper targets more serious ideologies such as stating in bold "Four quizzed in immigration roll" which are issues that the producer of the news paper know will cause controversy as is a hard hitting issue which may go agasints peoples values and beliefs and be more personal to some. They do this a they know it will get people talking and that it is an entertaining subject.
• There are three separate articles provided on one page which make that page more compact. There is a Bright picture of a Young Boy taking part in an activity a which is a close up and so that people know it relates to the article and so they have a better understanding of the topic but make be used as a support story or a secondary lead.
• This article talks about many religions and communities in there article which may be because they know that a wide audience is going to read it and especially those who live in the Ilford area so they are trying to cater for everyone who lives within the Ilford area whilst at the same time informing them of whats happening in the local are such as Gang crime.
• The layout is very organised as they have a smaller article tan have the next article centred around that article and then have a Gutter on the top the separate it from the main article which shows that keeping the structure of the papers is important and allows you to cover many topics on one page.
• A puff is provided at the bottom of this newspaper, it is highlighted in red so it stands out as everything else is black and white but the puff is in red and clearly state the newspapers website where consumers can log unto to and find out more about the newspaper and what there offering, which is another selling point for the paper as consumers know that they are offering more than just a newspaper.
• There are by lines in this newspaper so that readers know who the article is by.
• The heading have very brief and draw the readers attention as there is bold and because the newspaper looks at different topics such as car theft,immigration, weather, children so this media is providing sufficient information and news about the community consumers are living in.
• There is also another close up picture os a police officer standing infront of a car the stance of the man in the picture show to the public that it is a very serious issuse and may reassure the audience that the police are out there to help them.
