Questionnaire

We are also going to produce a questionnaire aimed a teenager so we can get valid responses to help us with our newspaper. We decided to carry out this type of market research, To see what they our readers like to see in newspapers and if there were any Newspapers in the market today that they really enjoyed reading. We also want to find out whether or not our audience would be interested in having a new Newspaper aimed at them them.We believed a questionnaire would be the best way of allowing to gather convienet and valid information in a short space of time as others methods would be to time consuming.

Before carrying out the questionnaire we did research into why it is essential to carry out Newspaper research before actually producing it so we could make sure we were on the right lines. We found out that market research through the method of questionnaires is essential to any newspaper as it allows you to keep up with the latest trends in newspapers at the moment through the responses we get from people and allows us to produce an accurate newspaper that would be successful in the industry market today.

  • Asking this question gives us an idea of what how often we are going to put our magazine on sale which is important as we need to put it on sales at appropriate time knowing that our consumers our going to buy it and that were therefore going to make a profit.
  • As were aiming at teenagers we need to ensure that we consider selling our newspaper at the right times and if we consider charging for our magazine we will also need to take this into consideration as many teenagers are still at school or college so there don't have an income so it would be something that we would really need to consider pricing our product correctly to ensure its affordable.

  • we kept the prices considerably low as we took into consideration the age of our target audience and what they would probably be willing to spend.
  • We also looked at other Newspapers in the same institution such as The sun which is a daily Newspaper that prices at 20p and we put £1.00 plus just to see if they would be willing to spend a pound.
  • We included 5op and 65p which we think is a very suitable price as as many of the local guardian around our area such as the Wood ford and Wasted guardian are priced at 50p to 65p which are also weekly.
