- We asked 20 Teenagers, 10 boys and 10 girls so we could get a fair enough response and to see if there was any difference related to what girls and boys like and so we could see if the were any drastic differences between our result.
- Doing this makes our results fair and equal and not gender biased
- Selecting 20 different types of teenagers of different age was so we received different points of views and we thought 20 people was a suitable amount of people to allow our to get valid information.
- We asked there age and decieded to seperate each age group into five people so we could make a comparison and get varied view
- The results we receive from this question were as we assumed as 20 out of 20 people ticked the yes box, agreeing they do get information, news and gossip from other sources.
- This result shows us that the development of technology is very popular among young people and is something we need to consider whilst producing our own website and making reference to this in our newspapers
- 6 out of 20 Teenagers said they used the Internet as a source of information on the latest going on in the world, This result allows us to consider making our newsapaper and web page extra exciting and eye catching to guarentee regular us.
- As website is the most popular picked out of the six option we gave our audience it also reassures us that producing an Internet web page and a newspaper that has internet links, is going to be the best thing for our target audience.
- The two next popular options were magazines and television which was what we expected from our age groups as the average Teenage girls today will purchase a magazines and Girls and women are often the target audience magazines go for, for example "Teen Mag" for the younger readers as they enjoy issues such as celebritiy fashion and gossip, and "Cosmopolitian", For older readers who are more instrested in sex, love, hair, beauty and advice.
- Television is watched by people nationwide and where the majority of people not only teenagers get sources of information from for example weather forecast, latest sports news and so on.

The third option for our coursework was to produce a poster that could be placed around local areas:
- However only 4 people said they would look at poster as a means of receiving information showing us that teenagers don't really pay attention to poster or billboards whilst travellling around there local area.
- We believe the only way they will look at a poster if it they have one directly in front of them that is attractive and eye catching.
- This would therefore be an option we would have to look into and research about to make sure our posters would be viewed by our target audience.
- Nobody said they were interested in billboards
- 2 or 3 people said they may seek information from a radio which may only be because they may be listenting to music and the odd news update would be read.
- The top features that had 10 responses were:Celebrity Gossip, Sports coverage, Real Life Stories Horoscopes
- This responses shows us that are audience are mostly interested in Real life stories that may be happening in society today in relation to there age groups such as: Street Crime and Drugs.
- Horoscopes were also very highly rated and from my personal opinion I know this as a lot of girls like reading there daily horoscopes to see if events mentioned will actually occur.
- Sports coverage was high which is due to us asking boys who on average all liked abit of sport.
- We asked then there favourite sports and many said were football, ruby and cricket showing that features about sports are very popular and are reasons why newspapers are brought.
- Celebrity Gossip would be good for us to include in our newspaper as young people love to Gossip about celebrities in the public eye and people have clearly said that's what they are interested in reading newspapers and magazines.
- Local events, news, advertisements and discounts had 8 responses from our participants, which may be because teenagers enjoy going out partying and clubbing in there local area with friend so want to know what upcoming events are happening such as local clubs and music concerts.
- The lowest rated response was comic strips which was probably from the younger teenagers (15 years old) with a response rate of 3.
- However it wouldn't be something we are going to consider because it would be unsuccessful with consumers and would be better suited for 11 to 15 years old who are still interested in cartoons.
- 9 out of 20 people said the font and colours used on the layout of a newspaper would attract them to purchase a Newspaper.
- This informs us that to gain reader to our newspapers the colours, font, prices, layout are the most important part as it is the main factors that would influence a teenager to a newspaper.
- Knowing this wil helps us a lot, as before we begin actually writing our Articles we need to make sure we have an attractive layout and design as without that key element our newspaper won't be brought as it would not stand out to them in shops.
- Secondly, the features and contents we provide in our magazine are also important receiving a response rate of 6 out of 20. Features and content are what the Newspaper would be made of and what consumers would be reading so making sure we include the right articles is very crucial in keeping our audience entertained.
- Our results also show that the price of the newspaper and the detail in which the articles themselves are written aren't very important to our age groups, only gaining 2 responses each
- Although the responeses rate was low it is still important that the price is right and is why we've referred to the issue of price in another question so we can distinguish between the prices they will be willing to pay.
From this question we can see that are target audience will be willing to spend between 20 to 40p at the most as 6 out of 20 said they would be willing to spend 20p and 7 out of 20 said they would be willing to spend 40p.
- This is very reasonable pricing for a teenager Newspaper as our target audience is still young and many may not be in partime work so it would have to be prices they can afford but also willing to pay.
- 3 people said they would be willing to spend 50p but as the responses were low we didn't think it was suitable for our age group.
- 2 people only said they would be willing to spend a pound and 1 said a pound plus but again we think the price would be to steep.
- We concluded that 20p and 40p were a good price for a newspaper, also because the sun is priced at 20p and still has a high circulation
- We gave the the choice of 6 Tabloid papers. The highest response was the metro which received 8 out of 20 from teenagers, we decided this could be because many of those we asked attend secondary school, sixth form, college and university and therfore are more likely to come in contact with a metro newspaper if using public transport as they would be the ones to pick it up and read it whilst on trains as a means of occupying their time.
- The Metro may also be highly rated as it is a young newspaper and rather informal so teenagers would be able to relate to the stories, celebrity gossip and sports news.
- The lite wasn't far behind with 4 responses and for the same reasons a the metro could be the reason why it is popular as it is again a public newspaper
- The Sun also received 4 responses as its an informal newspaper that can be read by anyone and teenagers may enjoy reading it as article are very brief and lack lots of detail
- The news of the world and the local guardians aren't very high which may be because the news of the world is a Sunday Newspaper and teenagers are generally busy on the weekend out with friends and the local guardian are more formalized and specific.
- We could also consider producing a fornightly paper as there were 5 responses which isn't that far behind the daily and weekly papers.
- lastly, monthly had 3 responses so we probaly wouldn't consider this option.
